Update on AAS-in-Asia 2020: New Location and Dates

In December 2019, AAS announced to members that, after much consideration, The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) and AAS had made a joint decision to postpone the AAS-in-Asia conference set to take place in Hong Kong in June 2020. Based on feedback from our membership, we had determined that searching for an alternative venue to continue with the 2020 conference would be preferable to cancelling the event altogether.

After a short period of negotiation, AAS and the International Academic Forum (IAFOR) in Japan have agree to jointly sponsor and organize the seventh conference of the AAS-in-Asia initiative. The AAS-in-Asia event will take place in Kobe, Japan from June 29 to July 1, 2020. IAFOR will be working with a consortium of the major national universities in the Kansai region to make sure the event is a success.

The call for papers will be re-opened soon. If you previously submitted a proposal to the Hong Kong event and would like to participate in the AAS-in-Asia conference in Japan, you must re-submit your proposal via the new submission portal when it is available. For convenience, organizers of previously submitted proposals may log in to the Hong Kong proposal submission system to print a copy of the original proposal or resend a confirmation of the submission to themselves. To log in, click here.
