New AAS Member Benefit: Discounted JPASS Access

The AAS, in collaboration with JSTOR, is pleased to offer a 50% discount to JPASS for AAS members. At this time of remote work, support in the form of online access to publications is invaluable. The JPASS was specifically designed for independent researchers and provides unlimited reading access to the 2,000+ humanities, social science, and science journals in the JSTOR archive. Those who subscribe can download up to 120 articles a year.

The discounted price of an annual JPASS plan for AAS members is $99. To take advantage of this 50% discount, please sign up at the JSTOR website.

A monthly plan for $19.50 is also available for anyone who would like a shorter plan.

Note that JSTOR has also made accommodations during the COVID-19 outbreak:

  • Free read-online access: JSTOR increased the number of articles available online for free from 6 to 100 article per month. A free JSTOR account is required, but everyone can have read-only access to the JSTOR archive. The 100 article/month limit is in effect until June 30, 2020.
  • Open and free content on JSTOR and Artstor: A roundup of open and freely available content—journals, books, and images—across the JSTOR and Artstor platforms. This content will continue to be open on JSTOR.
  • Public Health journals: Expedited release of 26 public health journals in light of the pandemic. These journals are open to everyone through June 30, 2020.
