Transportation – Seattle

The AAS 2024 Annual Conference will take place in both the Sheraton Grand Seattle Hotel (Headquarters Hotel) and the Seattle Convention Center in Downtown Seattle.

TRANSPORTATION

AIR TRAVEL

The closest airport is Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), also referred to as Sea–Tac. This is the primary commercial airport serving the Seattle metropolitan area, located approximately 14 miles (23 km) south of Downtown Seattle. There are a variety of public transport options to and from Sea-Tac shared below.


UBER, LYFT & TAXI

Uber and Lyft are easy and affordable alternatives to taking a cab. There are multiple pickup locations around the the Seattle Convention Center. For pickup locations at the Seattle-Tacoma Airport, click here.

A taxi to the convention center or surrounding hotels from Sea-Tac will run about $40-$55 dollars.


PUBLIC TRANSIT

LINK LIGHT RAIL – (To Seattle Convention Center/Sheraton)
Sound Transit’s Link light rail makes trips through downtown Seattle, making 16 stops along the way, including SEA Airport. Trains arrive every 8 to 15 minutes, depending on the time of day, and take about 40 minutes to travel between Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) and Westlake Station in downtown Seattle.

Reservations are not available for this service. To catch the train from the SEA airport, from baggage claim, follow the signs for light link rail. Please be sure to allow extra time during rush hour and peak travel periods. For information visit the soundtransit.org website.
