Already planning for 2023? For your convenience, below is the general information needed as you consider submitting a proposal. Full details will be made available soon.
New in 2023: The AAS one-appearance rule has been revised. Participants at the AAS Annual Conference will now have the opportunity to officially join and actively participate on up to two (2) sessions. The guidelines and different scenarios are as follows:
- Paper presentations are limited to one (1). An individual may present only one paper.
- Participants may serve as a chair and discussant on up to 2 sessions, serve as chair on 2 sessions or serve as discussant on 2 sessions.
- Participants may present a paper on one session and serve in the role of chair or discussant in another session.
Proposal Types and Limits
Organized Panel Session: Paper sessions consisting of one (1) chair, a minimum of two (2) papers and no more than four (4) paper presentation, up to two (2) discussants. The session abstract and each paper abstract has a 250-word limit.
Roundtable Session: A group discussion of one topic consisting of one (1) chair, a minimum of three (3) discussants and a maximum of five (5) discussants.
Workshop Session: Teaching and learning development format. Mostly Pedogogical. Formal papers are not required. Workshops must include at least two (2) presenters with a maximum of four (4) presenters.
Individual Papers: We encourage all topics. Individual papers are reviewed independently. Papers that are ranked high by the program committee, will be used to create a new session of similar individual papers.
