Graduate Student Stipends

The AAS has limited funds available to award Graduate Student Stipends.  However, ALL Graduate Students accepted to appear on a formal conference panel session will receive a travel stipend of approximately $200.  These stipends will be distributed to graduate student panel participants ONLY if the following criteria has been met:

  • Student lives more than 100 miles away from the Sheraton Boston Hotel.
  • Student has not received funding from other AAS sources.

*We do not offer student non-member conference registration rates.  Therefore, all students on the program must be a current STUDENT MEMBER at the time of the conference registration.  Current student status verification is required to secure student membership.  For more information on how to join the AAS as a Student Member, please visit the Membership Join page.

The criteria noted above are all that is required to receive the Graduate Student Stipend. There is no separate application.  If you have met the criteria above, you do not need to contact the AAS separately to confirm if you will receive the stipend.  Travel stipend checks are distributed on-site in Boston.  Valid photo ID is required.

Grant & Stipend Distribution

All LDC grants and Graduate Student Stipend awards will be distributed on-site in Boston.  Award & stipend recipients may pick up their travel funds at the Travel Grants disbursement desk onsite in Boston at the conference venue.

Additional details and disbursement desk hours will post at a later date.
