New Threats to Academic Freedom in Asia examines the increasingly dire state of academic freedom in Asia. Using cross-national data and in-depth case studies, the authors shed light on the multifaceted nature of academic censorship and provide reference points to those working in restrictive academic environments.

Dimitar D. Gueorguiev is an assistant professor of political science at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Gueorguiev co-authored a Cambridge University Press book on Chinese governance institutions entitled China’s Governance Puzzle. His articles have been published in the American Journal of Political Science, the Journal of East Asian Studies, the Asian Journal of Economics, ChinaPerspectives, and Politics Groups and Identities.
