AAS 2025 Call for Proposals Is Now Open

The Program Committee is now accepting proposals for the AAS 2025 Annual Conference, to be held March 13-16, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio, at the Greater Columbus Convention Center, Hilton Columbus, and Hyatt Regency Columbus.

The Program Committee invites colleagues in Asian Studies to submit proposals for Organized Panels, Roundtables, Workshops, and Individual Papers. In 2025, the AAS will offer two new proposal types: Lightning Sessions and Poster Sessions.

The AAS Annual Conference does not have a theme. Instead, the Program Committee welcomes proposals from all disciplines and particularly encourages Asia-focused scholars in the social sciences and arts disciplines to submit. The committee seeks sessions that will advance knowledge about Asian regions and, by extension, enrich teaching about Asia at all levels. Membership in AAS is not required to submit a proposal or to present at the conference.

Please see the full Call for Proposals for information about proposal types and the submission process. The deadline for submission of all proposals and International Exchange Travel Grants requests is Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 5:00pm EASTERN Time. All proposals must be submitted electronically via the AAS submission application. Proposals submitted via email will not be accepted.

If you have any questions regarding proposal submissions that are not answered in the Call for Proposals or the FAQs, please contact the AAS at AASconference@asianstudies.org.

We look forward to seeing you in Columbus next March!
